Independent Directions to this Site: From Boulevard des Allumettières or Highway 148, take the Chemin Eardley exit in Aylmer. Turn right or northwest onto Chemin Eardley or the continuation of Highway 148 and proceed 10.6 km northwest on Eardley to Breckenridge. Turn left or southwest just beyond the creek on the old railway station road and park.
Ottawa River West: Quebec Route Directions: From the south end of Chemin Terry-Fox, return 1.3 km to its junction with Chemin Eardley. Turn left or northwest on Eardley or Hwy 148. Proceed 6.6 km northwest on Eardley to Breckenridge. Turn left or southwest just beyond the creek on the old railway station road and park.
Site Description and Birding Information: The Breckenridge Creek Nature Preserve protects a good marsh and some woodland here where Breckenridge Creek flows into Breckenridge Bay. The wooded area is good for landbirds, especially in migration. Good for owls in spring. The old railbed runs through the preserve. The road can also be walked, but be sure to respect private property.

Ottawa River West: Quebec Route Directions: From were you are parked just off Highway 148 at Breckenridge, turn left or north onto it and proceed 1.2 km northwest on Eardley to Chemin de la Rivière, between Breckenridge and Heyworth. Turn left or west onto it. Follow this country road west through farmland and across the former rail line. Continue following it as it bends around to the northwest, following the old rail bed and bending again to the north, where it crosses the tracks again, just before descending to the creek. Park here, 2.3 km from Hwy 148 at our next site on this route on Chemin de la Rivière.
