Site Description and Birding Information: This is a special project involving a number of agricultural and environmental agencies. Altough there are a total of five cells in the pond system, only two small ponds are visible along the road. The one on the left, closer to the farm, has edge habitat for shorebirds and several species have been seen here since birders discovered them. This site is not open to the public, however appointments for visitation may be made by contacting the Eastern Ontario Model Forest or South Nation Conservation. South Nation Conservation requests that birders park on the side of the road, and respect the farmer's private property. Also check the manure pile's cement holding basin between the barns and the road; it too attracts shorebirds.
