Independent Directions to this Site: From Boulevard des Allumettières or Highway 148, take the Chemin Vanier exit. Turn left or south onto Vanier and go 3.2 km to Boulevard de Lucerne. Turn right or west on Lucerne and go 1.4 km to Chemin Fraser. Turn left or south into Chemin Fraser.
Ottawa River West: Quebec Route Directions: From the dead end on Rue Lamoureux, return east 0.7 km to Rue Côté. Turn left or north on Côté and drive 0.5 km to Boulevard de Lucerne. Turn left or west on Lucerne and go 1.0 km to Chemin Fraser. Turn left or south into Chemin Fraser.

Site Description and Birding Information: Chemin Fraser extends 1.3 km, first south to the river through open scrub and woodlands; then west along the river past an unbroken line of mostly new homes and cottages. There is some undeveloped woodland on the side of the road away from the river, with a bit of lusher and damper area towards the dead end. The last section of this road is unpaved.
There are trails throughout the undeveloped area around Chemin Fraser. The area east of Fraser is disected by the bike path coming from the dead end of Rue Lamoureux. The area west of Fraser has several trails, reaching eventually to the Wychwood area, 0.8 km away. From the river portion of Fraser, Rue Jacques-Phillion heads north into the centre of this area. The trails can be access from here as well. One of the trails passes a quarry. Aspen, sumac and hawthorn are common. Breeding birds include Field Sparrow and Brown Thrasher.
Ottawa River West: Quebec Route Directions: From the dead end on Chemin Fraser return east, then north 1.3 km to Boulevard de Lucerne. Turn left or west on Lucerne and go 1.2 km to Rue Pine. Turn left or south on Pine and you are now entering the next site on this route, Wychwood.
