Site Description and Birding Information: This area provides access to the northern section of the Manion Corners Wetlands. Cody Creek runs through this deadwood swamp. Old Almonte Road cuts through this swampland and itself provides excellent viewing. But there is also an old wood road extending northwest into the swamp from just southwest of Cody Creek. This road is often very wet, so rubber boots are a plus. Black Bears have been seen in this swamp. This "road" eventually goes through to Peter Robinson Road, reaching a low ridge in 0.5 km and following it for another 2.1 km before reaching another swampy section of 0.6 km. It is about 3.4 km total to the southeastern end of Peter Robinson Road and 4.3 km to March Road.

This section of Cody Creek meanders through swamplands seemingly unfit for human settlement (hence no subdivisions). The creek crossing at Old Almonte Road provides views of the water, edges and swamplands. To the northeast of the creek, where the woodland begins, and for the next kilometre or so to Manion Corners, listen for owls in the cedar and tamarack.
